How can I start writing reviews?
In alignment with our values of honesty, trust and transparency reviews cannot report anonymously and they need to be linked to a profile with a real person behind it. For this reason, to write a review about your own experience with a local service provider please either login or setup your account.

How to Write a Review?

As soon as your account has been created, you can start writing reviews. To do so follow below steps:
Search for the business or service you want to review in the search bar. Once you’ve found it, go to their profile page and click on Leave a Review. Choose your rating and provide as many details as possible about your experience. Click Post your review.
Remember to read and accept our Terms & Conditions
Please note that not all companies have an existing profile page on Opiokalos, but that doesn’t mean you can’t review them! We can guide you through creating a new company profile page so you can post the first review of their business.
When writing a review please make sure you are providing useful, unbiased and constructive feedback. Any reviews that do not comply with our governing rules will not be posted. For more information on this please read here.

How can I update or delete my review?

You can manage your reviews and ratings anytime from your account.

To update a review:
Go to your profile – My reviews –find the review you would like to modify and click edit – Once you are happy with the update click on post review.
To delete a review:
Please be aware that if you delete your review, this cannot be undone. We will not be able to reinstate it if you change your mind.
Go to your profile –> My reviews –>Find the review you would like to delete – Click on the bin icon –> A pop-up will appear asking you if you are sure you want to delete the review –> click OK to complete the step

Can I review a company several times?

Yes, this is possible. If you made a new purchase or you had a different experience with a local service provider, you can either adjust the existing review or leave a new feedback by simply clicking on Leave a review button on their profile.

How do I filter reviews by star rating?

Reviews on Opiokalos are shown in chronological order meaning that the most recent reviews will appear at the top of each business’ profile page. You can use our filter reviews tool to sort and select reviews by their star rating to do a more targeted search, such as finding out what customers like about a company (5 star reviews), or what they’d like to see improved (1 and 2 star reviews).

What does “Verified review” mean?

A review can be verified if Opiokalos has enough information to connect the review to an experience with the business they reviewed. This can happen if a review is reported and our compliance team requests further documentation showing the buying or service experience. To indicate that the experience has been validated by our compliance department the review is marked as verified.

How can I review a company that is not listed yet?

You may wish to review a business that isn’t listed yet. In this case, you can add the company profile yourself and be the first one to leave a review.
To do this you must first create an account or login and from your Dashboard you can click on Add a new listing. Once your request has been approved you will be able to add your review.

Why do I need a user profile on Opiokalos?

For us it is very important to maintain the quality of reviews and protect the integrity of our community. For this reason, every review must be connected to a profile that has a real person behind it.
In some situations, we also need to be able to contact you to verify that your review is genuine and meets our User Guidelines. That means we need your profile to be attached to a valid and active email address so we can contact you directly.

I have two profiles on Opiokalos – Can I merge them?

Unfortunately, we do not have the possibility to merge two or more user profiles on Opiokalos, your only solution is to delete one of them.

How can I change my email address?

To change your email please write a short email to support@opiokalos.com. Your request should come from the email address you normally use to login to Opiokalos and should include the new email address you would like to use.

How do I edit information on my profile?

To edit your username, password or other settings on your profile please log in –> go to My Settings and once the page with your personal information is opened you can edit your details then click Save information.

How do I delete my user account?

You can delete your account on Opiokalos anytime. Go to My settings – click on Delete user –> a pop-up asking you if you are sure you want to delete your account will appear –> Click OK
Please note that by deleting your profile all your reviews will be deleted as well.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

To reset your password you will need to go on the sign in page. Once there click the forgot your password button. Insert the email address used to register the account and click reset password. Check your email for the new password. If the email is not received after a few minutes please check your junk/spam folder as well.

How do I change my password?

To change your password, please login to your profile –> click on My settings –>Password –> fill in the current password and the new password –> click OK.

How do I create my business profile?

To create a business profile, you need to Register a free business account. Login to your dashboard, click on Update Profile and add information about your business.

How do I claim my business?

If your business was already added to the listings by somebody else, you can claim it by clicking on the Claim your business button on your listing. This will forward you to the Registration page. Once you create a business account you can now Update your profile from the Dashboard.

How do I verify my business?

In order to create a business profile for your company you will need to provide proof of ownership, so we can ensure that the person claiming the business is the person that owns it. This will be either by providing a company email address or by sending us a document proving eligibility to claim the business

How can I reset my password?

To reset your password and regain access to your business account go to Sign In page, Click on Forgot your password? Enter the email address you used for the registration and click Send Email
Within the next few minutes, you should receive an email containing a link to reset your password.

Do I get notified when I receive new reviews or when an old review is updated?

Yes, we know how important reviews are for businesses therefore you will receive a notification if your services are reviewed or if an older review is updated.

Do I get notified when a review is reported?

You do not get notified when a review is reported but we might contact you to ask more information about the reviewer and the reason why the review was flagged.

What should I do if I disagree with a review?

If you disagree with a review posted on your business profile, we suggest that you do not report the review and instead you respond to it. People appreciate businesses that listen and follow up on feedback more than businesses who have all low rated reviews reported. Plus, by engaging with an unhappy client you might be able to help him change his mind and update the review and rating, meaning that you are not only winning over an unhappy customer but you are gaining more trust from prospect clients.

What happens if I report a review?

If you are reporting a review as a non-existent buying experience, the reviewer will be contacted and will be asked to provide documentation proving the experience. If the reviewer fails to do so, the review will be removed, however if the reviewer provides all the necessary documentation and information to verify the review, this cannot be removed. If the review is reported for guidelines breaches our admin will verify the review and contact the reviewer for changes or further information.

Will companies be notified when reviews on their services are removed?

We know how important reviews are for your business, for this reason we make sure you are notified every time a review is created or removed. If a removed review is not reinstated, it means the problems for which it has been reported have not been solved.

Can a review reported by the service provider be changed by the reporter?

Once a review has been reported, it can only be edited by the admin. If you would like to edit a reported review please send an email to support@opiokalos.com

How should I respond to reviews?

Responding to reviews is essential in building trust with your clients. Regardless if they are happy or unhappy customers, engaging with them the correct way will always reflect favorably on your business. Why we don’t delete reviews of businesses from Opiokalos?

Transparency is one of the core values of Opiokalos. For this reason, once a business has been reviewed we do not delete its profile or reviews. We believe that each review tells a story about a service experience and it can be useful for both consumers and businesses. Unless the review is in breach of our guidelines we aim to conserve the freedom of speech.

How can reviews improve your service experiences?

Before paying for a service it is good to make some research and learn what other people think about it. However, there are a few things you should consider when choosing a service based on reviews:
• Total number of reviews. If a service provider has only a few reviews on Opiokalos it might be a good idea to make some more research. Don’t form your entire impression of a business based on small numbers of positive or negative reviews.
• Read reviews carefully. Star ratings will give you a quick overall impression, but the devil is in the details. Apart from considering the business’s rating, read 10-20 reviews and see what people highlight as good or bad. Also keep in mind that reviews can be subjective – what one person sees as a problem may be an advantage to someone else!
• Check the date of reviews. If reviews are more than a year old, the business could have changed ownership or switched focus since then. Always pay more attention to the most recent reviews.
• Use common sense and instinct. Have you come across a deal that seems too good to be true? If so, chances are, it probably is.

How does Opiokalos business model work?

Opiokalos is an online review community open to everyone’s use – customers, service providers and the community. Everyone can just go in and see what others think and leave their opinion for Free. For businesses we have a free and a paid plan. For the Free plan business can create a profile, collect reviews, reply to reviews and learn what customers think about them. For the paid plan we offer extra tools and insights to help them win more business.
We also allow businesses to advertise their services and provide sponsored content.

Why must companies provide reasons for reporting reviews?

When a business reports a review, a window appears requesting them to explain the main reason(s) why they’ve chosen to report it. These explanations are public and visible to everyone in our community.
We consider this step important to make clear why each review has been reported, and to help businesses report reviews correctly. We believe that everyone should be able to see and understand who has reported each review and the reason(s) why. Examples of reasons: review placed for the wrong business, it contains personal information that could put someone at risk, suggests the review has not had genuine service experience or violates other parts of our guidelines.

What happens if my review is reported?

We want Opiokalos to have as many genuine and helpful reviews as possible. To maintain trust, we allow people to report reviews that contravene our guidelines. But we also balance this by requiring people to specify a legitimate problem with each reported review, and a prohibition against abusing this tool. Where possible, our Team will work with reviewers to help them get genuine reviews back online, however if the problem cannot be solved the reported review might be removed.

Why do we ask for reviewer documentation?

To write a review, you must have had a buying or service experience, placed an order, or used a product/service with the reviewed business. It’s not enough that you have an opinion about it.
We can ask for documentation if a review is reported by the reviewed service provider because they don’t believe the reviewer has had a genuine buying or service experience, or if the review is flagged to us because it has irregularities that don’t fit with what we usually see for reviews.
By providing us with documents to verify their experiences consumers help us enhance the trustworthiness of our community and resolve questions about reviews.

Which documents help us verify your review?

We can accept any of the below documentation as proof of buying or service experience, placed an order or used a product/service:

  • Order confirmations
  • Invoices or receipts
  • Delivery notes or reports
  • Screenshots of your logged in user profile
  • Your email conversation with the reviewed company

If you don’t have one of the documents listed here, you can send us what you do have if you believe it demonstrates a buying or service experience with the company – and we’ll be happy to consider it. If there’s enough information to verify your experience and get your review back online, we’ll do our best to make sure that happens.
